Lauren O’Bannon
Fashion & Costume Designer
Hello! I’m Lauren, a self-taught fashion designer with a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Storytelling from the University of Missouri. The art of storytelling has always held deep significance for me; after all, storytellers shape the world we inhabit. This passion drove me to dive deeper into the craft.
Let’s take a moment to rewind…
Five years ago, I sat down at a sewing machine for the first time, and within a year, I created my first piece of clothing. Four years later, this journey led me to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, where I trained in the costume and wardrobe department for television and film. There, I explored the narrative power of costume design through script and character analysis, curating pieces that resonate with the essence of storytelling.
Interestingly, I grew up skipping school to work on indie film sets around Kansas City—an early testament to my dedication! It’s no surprise, then, that I am now immersing myself back into the film industry. As I continue to write my story, I eagerly anticipate opportunities to blend my expertise in fashion and digital storytelling to create visual identities that bring characters to life.
Thank you for visiting, and may your day be as beautiful as the stories we create!
